Privacy Policy

CritchPitch ("we," "us," "our") is a pitching mechanics screening and training insights platform. We are not a medical provider and do not provide medical diagnoses, injury predictions, or treatment plans. Our service is a screening tool that uses AI-powered pose estimation to identify movement patterns associated with stress indicators identified in biomechanics research.

Video uploads. When you upload a pitching video for screening, the video is processed entirely within your web browser using on-device pose estimation (MediaPipe). Your video is never uploaded to or stored on our servers. The video stays on your device and is discarded from browser memory when you leave the page or start a new screening.

Screening results. After analysis completes, we store the numerical results of the screening (joint angles, movement pattern scores, finding classifications) in our database so you can return to your report later. These results do not contain your video, any images, or any biometric identifiers.

Account information. When you set up a profile, we collect your name, email address, the pitcher's name, age, and throwing hand. If you verify your phone number, we store the phone number and verification status.

Self-reported training data. If you use the training calendar, you may log throw counts, activity types, and soreness reports. This data is self-reported and voluntary.

Payment information. Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full credit card number. We receive your email, the plan purchased, and the transaction amount from Stripe.

Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how people use the platform (pages visited, features used, screening completion rates). This data is aggregated and used to improve the product. We do not sell analytics data to third parties.

Your video is processed locally in your browser. It is not uploaded to any server, cloud storage, or third-party service. Here is exactly what happens:

1. You select or drag a video file from your device.
2. Your browser loads the video into local memory and runs pose estimation frame by frame using Google MediaPipe (running on your device, not on a server).
3. The pose estimation produces numerical joint coordinates for each frame. These coordinates are used to calculate movement metrics and pattern scores.
4. The video is released from browser memory. It is never transmitted over the internet.
5. Only the numerical screening results (scores, classifications, metrics) are sent to our server and stored in your account.

We do not have access to your video at any point. We cannot view, replay, share, or recover your video because we never receive it.

We use the data we collect to:

• Generate your mechanics screening report and training insights
• Let you return to your report and track changes over time
• Send you your verification code via SMS (Twilio)
• Send you transactional emails about your account and screening results (Resend)
• Provide workload tracking and rest day recommendations based on your self-reported throw logs
• Improve the accuracy and usefulness of the screening tool

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not use your data to train AI models.

We use the following services to operate CritchPitch:

• Supabase (database and authentication): Stores your account, screening results, and training data. Hosted in the United States.
• Stripe (payments): Processes subscription and one-time payments. We never see your full card number.
• Twilio (SMS): Sends verification codes to your phone number. Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for delivery.
• Resend (email): Sends transactional emails (report notifications, account emails). Your email address is shared with Resend solely for delivery.
• PostHog (analytics): Collects anonymized usage data to help us improve the product.
• Google MediaPipe (pose estimation): Runs entirely in your browser. No video data is sent to Google.

CritchPitch is designed for youth athletes. We expect that a parent, guardian, or coach will create the account and manage the screening process on behalf of the minor athlete. We collect the pitcher's first name and age to personalize the screening report. We do not knowingly collect email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information directly from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your screening results and account data are retained as long as your account is active. If you want your data deleted, email us at nathan.critch@outlook.com and we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

You can:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time
• Stop using the platform at any time (your video was never stored by us)

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your session. We use PostHog for product analytics, which may set cookies to track usage patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users via email or a notice on the platform. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
